Office Manager
Run the front of a small clinic, with the authority to actually run it. Here is the honest version of the job.
The job, plainly
You own the front of the clinic. The schedule, insurance verification and compliance, the billing hand-off, the receptionists, and the first ninety seconds that decide whether a nervous new patient relaxes or leaves.
This is a manager role, not a data entry job with a title on it. If you are currently buried in keystrokes, taking work home, and putting in long hours just to stay level, that is the thing this role is meant to be the opposite of.
You also work close to care. In a clinic this size the manager is out front where the patients are, not behind a wall of glass.
Who it suits
Somebody who wants to help build a small business, not administer a branch of a large one. You will have real input on how the front office runs, and you will be accountable for how it runs.
You will work directly with the owner. Decisions do not go up a chain and come back in a quarter.
What the role requires
- Proven financial planning and financial management skills, including budgeting.
- Working knowledge of legal, medical, credentialing and insurance compliance.
- The ability to direct a team of medical receptionists while the clinic is busy with patient care.
- Organized and detail-oriented, and willing to delegate administrative and insurance work when it needs to move.
- Staff management experience, and the temperament for it on a hard day.
- Compassion for patients. Everyone here is part of the patient experience, front desk included.
- Comfort with a wide range of ages, athletes through seniors.
- Able to lift 50lbs, with some bending and squatting, to help a patient when the floor needs a hand.
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- Three to five years of physical therapy office or office manager experience.
- Genuine interest in healthcare leadership and in building a small business.
What we offer
- Base salary plus a bonus structure. Specific compensation is discussed at interview.
- Medical, dental and vision coverage.
- 401k.
- Accrued PTO and holiday pay.
- CEU reimbursement, unlimited CEUs, and a structured mentorship program.
- Schedule flexibility where the front desk allows it.
Clinic hours are Monday and Wednesday 8:00am to 6:00pm, and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Closed weekends.
How to apply
Email a resume to scheduling@alphaptgroup.com, or call (985) 326-7260 and ask for the clinic director. If you have run a physical therapy front office before, say so in the first line.
