Now Hiring
Patient Care Coordinator
You are the first voice a hurting person hears, and often the reason they finally book. Here is the honest version of the job.
The job, plainly
Somebody calls who has been putting this off for months. You answer. You get the story, you check what their plan actually covers, you get them on the schedule, and you follow up when they do not show. That is the job.
- Answer the phone and the appointment requests, and get people booked.
- Run benefits checks before a first visit so nobody is surprised by a bill.
- Keep the schedule accurate, including the reschedules and the no-shows.
- Maintain patient files, process claims paperwork, and generate the reports the clinic runs on.
- Greet patients in person and keep the front of the clinic calm.
Who it suits
Somebody good with people who is also good with detail, which is a rarer combination than it sounds. You will be trusted with the money conversation and with the scared-patient conversation on the same call.
The clinic is small, so you are not a name on a rota. You will know the patients, and the patients will know you.
There is a real onboarding and training program. You will not be handed a login and left to guess how the software works.
What the role requires
- Attention to detail, including numbers and data processing.
- Data processing proficiency: practice management software and Microsoft Word.
- Communication skills, written and verbal, and the general interactive kind.
- Organizational skills: priority setting, file maintenance, and report generation.
- Comfort with a wide range of ages, athletes through seniors.
- Excellent patient engagement, and the patience to encourage somebody who is discouraged.
- Dependable, adaptable, and detail-oriented. A small clinic feels every dropped ball.
Education and experience
- High school diploma or equivalent skills and aptitude. Business school graduate preferred.
- Basic computer courses or equivalent preparation.
- Medical or business office front desk management is desirable but not required.
- Insurance claims processing or management is desirable but not required.
What we offer
- Base salary plus a bonus structure. Specific compensation is discussed at interview.
- Medical, dental and vision coverage.
- 401k.
- Accrued PTO and holiday pay.
- CEU reimbursement, unlimited CEUs, and a structured mentorship program.
- Schedule flexibility where the front desk allows it.
- An onboarding and training program, and continuing education as you grow into the role.
Clinic hours are Monday and Wednesday 8:00am to 6:00pm, and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Closed weekends.
