Rehab Aide

See how a physical therapy clinic really works before you pay tuition to find out. Here is the honest version of the job.

Slidell, LA Full-time or part-time No licence required

The job, plainly

You keep the floor running so the clinicians can stay with their patients. No licence and no degree required. What is required is showing up and paying attention.

  • Bring patients back for their sessions and get them set up.
  • Follow the therapists’ instructions while a session is live.
  • Keep the office and the treatment areas clean and organized.
  • Schedule patients, answer the phone, and transfer calls to the right person.
  • The other daily tasks that make a small clinic work.

Who it suits

College students and recent graduates headed for physical therapy or PTA school. Use us as a stepping stone. You will watch evaluations, hear the reasoning behind a plan, and learn the ins and outs of how a clinic actually operates.

You will also see the part nobody advertises: the paperwork, the insurance calls, the patient who is scared of the exercise. That is the education. If you decide after a year that this field is not for you, that is a useful thing to learn early.

What the role requires

  • A high school diploma or an equivalent level certification.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, computerized scheduling and billing, and transferring phone calls.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Comfort around patients of every age, athletes through seniors.
  • Clear communication with patients and with peers, and the ability to encourage somebody mid-set.
  • Dependable more than spontaneous. This job runs on people knowing you will be there.
  • Some experience as a rehab aide is preferred, not required.

What we offer

  • Base salary plus a bonus structure. Specific compensation is discussed at interview.
  • Medical, dental and vision coverage.
  • 401k.
  • Accrued PTO and holiday pay.
  • CEU reimbursement, unlimited CEUs, and a structured mentorship program.
  • Schedule flexibility. Full-time or part-time can be built around class schedules and your life.

Clinic hours are Monday and Wednesday 8:00am to 6:00pm, and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Closed weekends.

How to apply

Email a resume to scheduling@alphaptgroup.com, or call (985) 326-7260 and ask for the clinic director. Tell us where you are headed after this, and what your class schedule looks like.
