Massage therapy in Slidell.

Soft tissue work with a job to do: get the muscle that has been guarding to let go, long enough that the strengthening actually holds.

Guarded, tight muscle Part of your plan Talk to a Specialist

What It Is

Not a spa hour. A working hour.

This is soft tissue work delivered as part of your care, one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist. Hands on the muscle that has been guarding, in the area your evaluation pointed to, chosen for a reason you get told out loud.

A muscle that has protected a sore joint for months goes tight and tender. Easing it does two things at once. It brings the pain down enough to move, and it opens up the positions your exercises need.

So no, this is not a relaxation package, and it is not the whole visit. Soft tissue work gets you to the part that changes things: loading the area while it is finally willing to move. Rubbing a tight muscle and sending you home is how people end up back every month.

What A Session Looks Like

Three steps, one visit.

1

We find the muscle that is guarding.

2

Hands-on work, at pressure you set.

3

Then you move, while it is loose.

Why It Works

Four reasons it earns a place in your plan.

Getting out of a chair without a plan.

Turning your head to back out the driveway.

Exercises that stop feeling impossible.

Relief that holds, because you loaded it.

Questions, Answered

Soft tissue work, straight answers.

No, and it should not be. A spa hour is built around how you feel on the table. This is built around what you can do when you get up. The area comes from your evaluation, the work is specific, and movement follows it in the same visit.

No. Wear loose, comfortable clothes and we work around them, uncovering only the area we need to reach. You hear what we are about to do before we do it, and nothing continues after you say stop. Being modest here costs you nothing.

You set it. Harder is not better, and treatment that leaves you bracing all week has not helped you. Some tenderness the next day is normal after we work a guarded muscle. Sharp pain during the session is not normal, so speak up and we change what we are doing.

We deliver it as part of physical therapy care, so it lives inside a plan instead of being sold by the hour. That is not us being difficult. It is the difference between feeling better until Thursday and being done with this. Call us and we will tell you honestly what fits.

It is part of your physical therapy visit rather than a separate service you buy, and coverage still differs by plan. We run a benefits check before your first visit, and a Good Faith Estimate is available. Call (985) 326-7260 with your card handy.
