An evaluation that looks for the cause.
Hurt on the job. We accept workers’ compensation and auto accident claims, and Louisiana does not require a physician referral to start. Return to work gets tested here, not guessed.
What It Is
One lift, one ladder, one bad step. Now there is pain, a claim number, and a question nobody will answer straight: when can I do my job again. You are the one who never calls out. That is exactly why this needs to be measured instead of guessed at.
Workers’ compensation therapy is physical therapy with a second job. It treats the injury, and it documents what you can do and what you cannot do yet. We accept workers’ compensation claims and auto accident claims, and in Louisiana you do not need a physician referral to begin.
Dr. Ryan Spano, PT, DPT is a WorkSteps testing administrator, so functional return-to-work testing happens right here. Instead of an opinion about whether you can lift, carry, and climb, there is a test. That protects you as much as it protects the company.

Pairs Well With
Questions, Answered
For an accepted work injury, therapy is billed to the claim rather than to you. We accept workers’ compensation claims and auto accident claims. Approval rules vary by carrier and by claim, so we verify your coverage before your first visit and tell you exactly what we find. Call (985) 326-7260.
You do, to your employer. A workers’ compensation claim generally starts with that report, and it is not something a clinic can open on your behalf. If you already have a claim number and an adjuster, bring both to your first visit. If you do not, call us and we will tell you what we can and cannot do.
Not in Louisiana. You can start physical therapy without a physician referral, so you are not sitting at home waiting on someone else’s schedule. Some claims still require the carrier to authorize therapy, so we check that up front and tell you where you stand before you commit.
We do not make employment decisions, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can do is measure. Offshore, on a job site, or on a delivery route, your restrictions should come from testing instead of someone’s opinion. WorkSteps functional testing gives you and your employer the same set of numbers.
No, and it helps to be clear about that line. We are a physical therapy clinic: we evaluate you, treat you, and keep clear records of what you can and cannot do yet. Liens, letters of protection, and anything with an attorney’s name on it belongs with your lawyer.
